The finished project
Newburgh Notched Ashlar Slate patio
This Newburgh patio creates a broad outdoor-living surface along the rear of the home and screened porch. The shape works around the existing architecture while leaving an open edge toward the lawn.
The main field combines a warm tan color with a Notched Ashlar Slate pattern. Darker accents bring out the varied stone texture, and a dark perimeter border gives the large patio a crisp, deliberate frame.
Rounded outside corners carry the border through the entire design. At the screened-porch entrance, a curved concrete step with a rock-face vertical finish adds a coordinated transition instead of treating the step as a separate element.
